This 3-tier creation was made for another niece. It is a traditional stacked cake with the exception that it is stacked off center. The top layer is covered in black fondant that was embossed and highlighted with silver luster dust. The top cake was easily removable and served as the smash cake for this one. The middle and bottom layers are round cakes with butter cream filling and then covered with two layer of fondant. The white fondant was then cut away to reveal the black underneath and create the zebra pattern and the circles & damask pattern. The "ribbon" roses are made of fondant that was then painted with pink petal dust. The "Sissy" on top is hand sculpted from fondant pieces and embellished with fondant clothes, hair, and tutu.
The silver, black, white, and pink pearls were created out of fondant and painted with edible colors, petal dusts, and luster dusts. The wooden lazy susan was for transport and was removed when the cake was taken to its final place...outside. Because it was a warm day, we moved it at the very last moment.
I am not fond of non-edible decorations but this cake screamed for feathers and my sister had purchased them for use on the cake anyway. They just added that extra "oomph".
