Electric Guitar Cake

This Electric Guitar cake was created for my nephew's 2nd birthday.  He was having a Rock N Roll party and my sister gave me carte blanche. 

 The body of the instrument is sculpted cake filled with butter cream and covered with fondant painted with a pearl coat.  It is embellished with fondant details, hand painted filigree, and piped filigree. The neck of the guitar was rice cereal treats covered in fondant with butter cream details.  The tuning screws were hand sculpted out of fondant and painted with edible silver.

Here is the smash cake that went with the electric guitar.  It is sculpted from cake with butter cream filling.  The top is a fondant cut-out with butter cream writing.  The sides are iced with butter cream "stars".  Smash cakes should always have plenty of frosting to play in!
